Reflection 2.1: My experience of pedagogy

This table structure and strategy headings are Drawn from Ezette Grauf: Heuristics on Categories of Productive Pedagogies (New Basics: Queensland trials a curriculum for tomorrow)

It is 30 years since I was 15 years old and graduating from junior secondary and I don't remember a lot about my experience of pedagogy in secondary school.  I have taught adult learners in a tertiary setting for 17 years and this experience over-rides much of what I experienced at school.  Also, my husband is an early childhood teacher and I am often surrounded by 'work talk' about teaching strategies in early childhood (which has quite a different focus to junior secondary).  I have my own son entering into year 7 this year and I oversee alot of his homework and tasks.  I don't see the classroom.  To conclude, at this stage I admit that I am struggling to 'unpack' what these strategies look like in the classroom.  I feel like I am grasping at straws in coming up with the experience columns in this table.  I know I have to start somewhere and I hope that I will be coming back to this table in future weeks to make a better job of it.

(I also owe my husband $45 in tech support as I just locked myself out of my blog account because of the way that google manages gmail accounts with the one logon and had to ask him to help me to force google to work with my non-cqu account.   Which goes to show that technology is wonderful when it works and pretty frustrating when it doesn't.   hahahahahah).
